Illa Roja cove
by Alex Rigola on May 23, 2012 in Begur, Middle Costa Brava
Probably one of the most photographed scenery on the Costa Brava. Spectacular, unique in its kind … so is Illa Roja cove, a very exclusive creek mainly due to the great mass of reddish rock in front of the beach.
Cala el Golfet
by Alex Rigola on April 19, 2012 in Calella de Palafrugell, Middle Costa Brava

by Alex Rigola on March 27, 2012 in Begur, Middle Costa Brava
Today we begin a series of articles devoted to various sea caves (not underwater ones) we can find in the Costa Brava rocky coast. And we could not start without visiting the longest and most spectacular of all: Cova d’en Gispert, in Begur.
Begur Castle
by Alex Rigola on March 20, 2012 in Begur, Middle Costa Brava
Main symbol of the town and its most famous viewpoint, Begur Castle contains, even in its current state, centuries of ancient and eventful history. Its visit is highly recommended for those wishing to enjoy a pleasant walk ended with an unforgettable scenic view of the center of the Empordà.
Cala el Crit
by Alex Rigola on March 15, 2012 in Middle Costa Brava, Mont-ras
Cala el Crit is a small cove that contains in its name a dramatic legend based on the time of looting pirates who lived around the Mediterranean during the XVIth, XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries. Located in Mont-ras just in front of Formigues Islands, between Palafrugell and Palamos, it is part of the short coast line [...]
Cala s’Alguer
by Alex Rigola on March 10, 2012 in Middle Costa Brava, Palamós
Cala s’Alguer, located in the village of Palamós, in the middle of the Costa Brava, is a cove that still seems from another time. Nothing has changed there in recent years. The transparent and crystalline underwater, the traditional fishermen houses and the wood in the surroundings give it a great charm.

by Alex Rigola on March 8, 2012 in Begur, Middle Costa Brava
At the end of Cape of Begur, practically the easternmost point of the Costa Brava, lies a building in good condition that was inaugurated in late XIXth century in order to provide guidance in the maritime traffic, as well as weather station. Now in disuse, the area is an excellent vantage point to see the [...]
