Located in a wonderful and romantic place in Lloret de Mar, on a ravishing beauty cliff overlooking the sea, right above Cala Boadella, this Italian Renaissance-style gardens were designed by the architect and urban designer Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí in 1919, under the direction of the Marquis of Roviralta, in an architectural environment in perfect harmony with the garden design.
The Santa Clotilde Gardens combines elements very similar to the Boboli Gardens, Villa Medici and Giusti. It is about 26,000 m2 with a sober and elegant design that conveys also a very calm and inner peace.
Composed of Mediterranean vegetation, the garden also contains many marble statues, as well as the famous seven bronze mermaids created by Maria Llimona. Among others we can find orange trees, cedars and pine trees, most characteristic of this Mediterranean area.
The garden is structured around a magnificent central staircase covered with vines and cypress trees lined along, which is composed by terraces that gradually descend in altitude over the cliff to the end, where you will enjoy a stunning view of the sea. Deckchairs at the site allow visitors to enjoy tranquility of the views over the Cala Boadella, a quiet cove that sits just below the gardens.
The Santa Clotilde Gardens owns plant varieties that belongs primarily to the Mediterranean zone. For those also are interested in seeing tropical species can not miss, also in Lloret de Mar, the Marimurtra Botanic Garden or the Pinya Rosa Botanic Garden.
